Westland Ventures is a family office with investments in private and public equity, venture capital, credit, and real estate. Westland's founder and chief investment officer is Scott Sipprelle, who was the founder and chairman of Copper Arch Capital, a billion dollar long-short hedge fund based in New York City that returned all capital to investors in the fall of 2007, months before the global financial markets collapsed. Scott started his career in finance at Morgan Stanley, where he was Managing Director and Head of US Equity Capital Markets. In this role he managed many bellwether public offerings, including the IPO of Netscape Communications, a landmark financing that launched the public market for internet stocks.
